Photo Swipe (“App”) is published by Code With Chris (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how.
Summary
Photo Swipe helps you review and delete photos on your iPhone. Photo analysis (duplicates, similar shots, blur, faces, and location grouping) runs on your device. We do not operate user accounts or cloud storage for your photo library.
Opening Support & Feedback is the only in-app path that can send a message or a photo you choose to attach off the device.
Information Stored on Your Device
When you use the App, the following is stored locally on your iPhone:
- Photo library access status and related preferences
- On-device caches used to detect similar, blurry, or grouped photos
- Deletion statistics (counts and storage freed)
- Install cohort, swipe-limit, and onboarding flags
- Debug Pro override on developer builds only
Your photos remain in Apple Photos unless you delete them or attach a photo in Support & Feedback.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not automatically collect, receive, or store:
- Your name, email address, or phone number (unless you type them in support chat or email us)
- Photo contents, filenames, or GPS coordinates from your library
- Contacts
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA/IDFV) for tracking
- The user-assigned name of your device
Information Processed by Third Parties
Apple (App Store & In-App Purchases)
If you purchase Pro access, payment is processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple may collect information according to its own policies.
RevenueCat (Purchase Status)
We use RevenueCat, Inc. to verify purchases and manage entitlements. RevenueCat may receive:
- An anonymous app user identifier generated by the App
- Purchase and entitlement status
- Basic device and app information needed to validate transactions
RevenueCat does not receive your photos.

TelemetryDeck (Product Analytics)
We use TelemetryDeck to understand app usage (for example launches, swipes, and purchase funnel events). Events use a hashed identifier and do not include photo contents.
TelemetryDeck privacy policy: https://telemetrydeck.com/privacy
PostHog (Product Analytics)
We use PostHog to measure the install-to-subscription funnel and whether people activate after onboarding (for example completing a photo deletion). Events use a pseudonymous analytics identifier that is the same anonymous RevenueCat app user ID used to join purchases. We do not send your name, email, photo contents, filenames, GPS, or other user-entered content to PostHog.
PostHog privacy policy: https://posthog.com/privacy
Crisp (Support & Feedback)
Opening Support & Feedback in Settings starts a chat with our support team using Crisp. Crisp receives:
- Messages you type in the chat
- Technical metadata used to diagnose issues (app identifier and name, version and build, iOS version, device hardware model, locale, language, timezone, Dynamic Type setting, distribution, and whether you have paid access)
- Photos or files only if you attach them in the chat
We do not automatically attach your photo library, location clusters, deletion history, or other personal logs.
Crisp privacy policy: https://crisp.chat/en/privacy/
Camera and Photo Attachments
The App may request camera and photo-library-add permission so you can attach or save photos inside support chat. Those permissions are unused unless you choose to attach or save a photo there. Library review and deletion still use Apple Photos on your device.
Data Retention and Deletion
- On-device data remains until you delete it in the App, delete the App, or erase your device.
- Support messages and any attachments you send are retained by Crisp under its policy.
- Purchase records retained by Apple and RevenueCat are governed by their respective policies.
- Analytics events retained by TelemetryDeck and PostHog are governed by their respective policies.
Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently received personal information from a child, contact us and we will address it.
Your Rights (EEA, UK, California, and Similar Laws)
Because we do not operate accounts or store your photo library on our servers, most requests about on-device content are handled on your device (change Photos access, delete photos, or delete the App).
For purchase-related data held by Apple or RevenueCat, contact those providers or use their account/subscription tools.
California residents may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not sell personal information.
If you contact us directly, you may request access to or deletion of correspondence we hold.
Security
We rely on Apple’s platform security for on-device storage. No method of storage is 100% secure; you are responsible for securing your device (passcode, Face ID, etc.).
International Users
The App is offered from the United States. Third-party processors (Apple, RevenueCat, TelemetryDeck, PostHog, Crisp) may process purchase, analytics, or support-chat data in the U.S. or other countries under their policies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
