Code With Chris (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Seizure Tracker mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how it is stored, what limited data we receive through third-party services, and the choices available to you.
If you have questions about this policy, contact us at care@codewithchris.com.
Summary
- Your health diary stays on your device and in your personal iCloud. We do not operate servers that store your seizure logs, medications, notes, or other diary content.
- We do not sell your data and we do not use the App for advertising or cross-app tracking.
- We collect limited, anonymous product analytics to understand how the App is used. Analytics events never include your health diary content.
- Purchases are handled by Apple and RevenueCat. We receive subscription and purchase status information, not your diary data.
Information You Enter in the App
Seizure Tracker is a personal health diary. Depending on how you use the App, you may enter:
- Seizure and event records, including date and time, duration, event kind, seizure type, awareness, severity, trigger tags, location labels (such as Home or Work), notes, and recovery notes
- Medication information, including medication names, dosages, schedules, dose status (taken, skipped, or pending), and related notes
- Profile information, such as a display name, whether you are tracking for yourself or as a caregiver, and relationship information in caregiver mode
- Doctor questions and other free-text notes used in reports
- App preferences, such as report date-range settings and onboarding choices
This information is health-related and sensitive. You choose what to enter. The App does not pull this data from HealthKit, GPS, your camera, microphone, photos, contacts, or calendar.
Where Your Diary Data Is Stored
On your device
Your diary data is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple’s on-device storage technologies.
In your iCloud account (optional)
If you are signed in to iCloud on your device, the App may sync your diary data to your private iCloud account through Apple’s CloudKit service. This sync is tied to your Apple ID and is governed by Apple’s iCloud terms and privacy practices.
We do not have access to your iCloud account or the contents of your private CloudKit database.
What we do not do with your diary data
We do not:
- Upload your diary content to our own servers
- Sell, rent, or license your diary content to third parties
- Use your diary content for advertising or profiling
- Share your diary content with clinicians, insurers, or other third parties
Caregiver Mode
If you use Seizure Tracker on behalf of someone else, you may enter health information about that person, including their name and your relationship to them.
You are responsible for:
- Having appropriate permission to record and store another person’s health information
- Ensuring that your use of the App complies with applicable laws and the expectations of the person whose data you are logging
We treat caregiver-entered data the same as self-entered data: it stays on the device and in the user’s iCloud account, not on our servers.
Reports and Sharing
The App can generate PDF reports from your logged data. When you share a report through the iOS share sheet (for example, by email or AirDrop), you choose the recipient and destination. Once you share a report, we no longer control how the recipient stores or uses that information.
Generated PDF files are stored locally in the App’s container on your device and are excluded from iCloud and device backups by design.
Local Notifications
If you enable medication reminders, the App may schedule local notifications on your device. Notification content may include medication names and dosages you entered. These notifications are generated and delivered on your device; they are not sent to our servers.
You can manage notification permissions in iOS Settings at any time.
Analytics
We use PostHog to collect anonymous product analytics so we can understand App usage and improve the product.
What analytics includes
Analytics may include:
- App lifecycle events (such as install, open, and update)
- Onboarding step completion (without health content)
- Feature usage signals, such as whether a seizure was logged with the timer, whether a report was generated (by preset range only, not by date content), or whether medication reminders were enabled
- Paywall events (such as paywall shown, purchase completed, or purchase restored)
- Device and environment metadata commonly collected by analytics SDKs, such as app version, operating system version, device type, and approximate country derived from IP address
Analytics events include an anonymous identifier linked to your RevenueCat app user ID. We do not set subscriber attributes in RevenueCat that contain your name, email, or health information.
What analytics does not include
Analytics events do not include:
- Seizure types, durations, notes, or dates from your diary
- Medication names, dosages, or schedules
- Display names, relationships, or other profile content
- Contents of PDF reports
- Free-text notes of any kind
We have configured PostHog with session replay, surveys, and automatic screen capture disabled.
PostHog processes data as our analytics provider. You can review PostHog’s privacy practices at posthog.com/privacy.
There is currently no in-app analytics opt-out control. If you want to discuss analytics, contact us at care@codewithchris.com.
Purchases and Subscriptions
Seizure Tracker offers paid access through in-app purchases processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions, entitlements, and purchase restoration.
RevenueCat and Apple may receive information related to your purchases, such as:
- Product identifiers
- Subscription status, trial status, and renewal events
- Transaction and receipt data handled by Apple’s App Store
This purchase information is used to provide paid features and to understand subscription performance. It is not combined with your health diary content on our systems because we do not store your diary content on our systems.
Apple’s privacy policy applies to App Store transactions: apple.com/legal/privacy.
RevenueCat’s privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Information We Do Not Collect
The App does not collect:
- Account registration data such as email or password (there is no separate login)
- Precise GPS location
- HealthKit data
- Contacts, photos, microphone, or camera data
- Advertising identifiers for cross-app tracking
We do not request App Tracking Transparency permission because we do not track you across other companies’ apps and websites for advertising.
Children’s Privacy
Seizure Tracker is intended for users who can lawfully consent to data processing in their jurisdiction, or who use the App with appropriate permission from a parent or guardian.
The App may be used by caregivers logging information about a child or dependent. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information to us through analytics or support channels without your consent, contact us at care@codewithchris.com and we will take appropriate steps.
We do not knowingly sell personal information, including information about children.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your diary data remains on your device and in your iCloud account until you delete it. You can delete individual records within the App. A “delete all data” feature may be added in a future update; until then, you can remove App data by deleting the App from your device and, if applicable, managing iCloud storage for the App in iOS Settings.
Analytics data retained by PostHog is governed by PostHog’s retention settings and our project configuration.
Purchase records retained by Apple and RevenueCat are governed by their respective policies.
Security
We rely on Apple’s platform security for on-device storage and iCloud sync. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we designed the App so that sensitive diary content is not transmitted to our servers.
You are responsible for securing your device with a passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, or equivalent protections, and for controlling access to your iCloud account.
International Users
If you use the App outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the App, you understand that information processed by analytics and purchase providers may be transferred to and processed in those locations.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice within the App or on our website.
Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
